How does this sound?
January 26th, 2006 . by ImshinIt wasn’t a vote for terrorism. It was a vote against corruption and anarchy. It was a vote for law and order.
We are perhaps witnessing the very first time ever in history that a ruling elite has changed like this in an Arab country - not with bloodshed, not with the deposed rulers heads’ rolling (or, still connected to their bodies, fleeing to France), but with real, free democratic elections…
…and everyone reacts in hysteria?
These were clean, fair, nonviolent democratic elections. This is a real revolution. My goodness, they are capable of doing it! Arabs can be democratic.
I promise you, one or two Arab despots are not liking this. I promise you, one or two million Arab subjects are looking on in envy.
The last thing we should be doing, is viewing this by the narrow prism of terrorism. This is much bigger and much more exciting than that.
And if you are not satisfied, look at it this way – the Fatah says one thing and means another. They pretend to be satisfied with a two state solution, while all the time the ‘Stage Program’ has never been discarded.
At least the Hamas tells us exactly what they want and mean. We know where we are. If the Hamas establish an active terror state, we will know what to do. We won’t be surprised like we were in September 2000.
I really don’t see any particular reason for hysteria.
And that’s all I have to say. I gave blood after lunch today, and I’m still not completely back to normal.
